Crawley Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets
Crawley Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets are a local youth organisation that follows the traditions of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. We also put our cadets through the Duke of Edinburgh award and participate in many local events including the Remembrance Day Parade, Poppy Appeal, National Armed Forces Day, local charity events and stewardship. Cadets aged 10 to 18 years old learn skills such as:
- Seamanship (Rope Work)
- Navigation, on land and sea
- Marine engineering
- Sailing
- Kayaking
- Power boating
- Cookery
- Weapons handling
- First Aid
- Leadership
- Life Skills
All skills learnt as a cadet help young people develop further in life, becoming valuable, independent citizens. Some go on to join uniformed services and for others their transferable skills stand them in good stead in higher education and employment.
